What we handle after a storm.
What happens when you call.
-
Call the storm line
717-743-5871, day or night. Tell us what the tree is on and if anyone is hurt or lines are down. If lines are down, call the utility and 911 first.
-
Make it safe
We secure what is hanging and cut what is blocking access first. [CONFIRM: callback and arrival times]
-
Take it off in sections
Crane, bucket or grapple saw, so pieces come off instead of dropping on the house.
-
Photos for your insurance
We photograph the damage before and after and give you a written invoice for your claim. [CONFIRM]
Storm work is the most dangerous tree work.
-
Do not cut it yourself Trees under load from a storm can spring back or roll when cut. Stay clear and call.
-
Lines first Never touch a tree that is on or near a wire. The utility makes the line safe before we work.
-
We wait out the worst We do not climb or run machines in lightning, high wind or ice. We make it safe, then come back. [CONFIRM]
-

Storm jobs.
Do you really answer at night?
Yes. The storm line, 717-743-5871, answers 24/7. [CONFIRM: storm call priority]
Will my insurance pay?
If a tree hits your house or another covered structure, many policies help pay for repairs and tree removal, usually up to a set limit for the removal. A tree that falls without hitting anything is usually the homeowner's cost. Check your own policy. We give you photos and an invoice for the claim.
My neighbor's tree fell on my house. Who pays?
In most cases you file with your own insurance, and your insurer may go after the neighbor's. Check with your agent.
A storm crew knocked on my door. Should I hire them?
Be careful with crews that show up after storms. Ask for proof of insurance and a written price before anyone starts. We send a certificate of insurance on request.
Do you work for businesses and townships too?
Yes. Commercial properties, HOAs, townships and boroughs. Municipal crews can call the same storm line.
