Land we bring back.
How a reclamation job goes.
-
Walk and plan
We walk the ground with you, flag the trees worth keeping, and look at slopes, wet spots and streams before any machine goes in.
-
Brush and small trees
Brush, vines and saplings are mulched in place or cleared and chipped.
-
Bigger trees and stumps
Dead and unwanted trees come down with the grapple saw, and stumps are ground or pulled where the ground will be used.
-
Grade, seed and follow up
Rough grade, seed and straw on bare ground, and a plan to keep invasive regrowth down.
Done right for the land.
-
Invasives come back Cut multiflora rose, autumn olive, honeysuckle and tree-of-heaven resprout from roots. Penn State Extension recommends follow-up control. We tell you the plan.
-
Streams and wet ground Work near streams and wetlands can need state permits. We keep machines off stream banks and tell you what applies before we start.
-
Erosion and sediment Larger earth disturbance can need an erosion and sediment plan through the county conservation district. Bare ground gets seed and straw.
-
PA 811 before we grind Pennsylvania law requires a One Call notice before digging or disturbing the ground with powered equipment. We place it before any grinding below grade so buried lines are marked.
-
Fully insured Certificate of insurance on request.

I highly recommend Evan and his crew for your tree cutting needs. Strong winds had damaged a maple at the back corner of my home, and...

“We cannot recommend Billows' enough!”
We have had Evan and his team at Billow's work on several projects at our home in Camp Hill. Every time we have worked with him...
Can you keep the good trees?
Yes. We flag the trees worth keeping on the walk-through and clear around them. Select-cut clearing is common on these jobs.
What happens to all the brush?
It is mulched in place or chipped, and logs are hauled or cut and stacked for you.
Will the brush grow back?
Invasive shrubs and tree-of-heaven resprout from roots. Grading, seeding and follow-up control keep the ground from going back to brush.
Do I need a permit?
Most small clearing jobs do not. Work near streams or wetlands, or a large area of disturbed ground, can need permits or an erosion plan. We tell you what applies.
How long does it take?
It depends on the acreage, how thick the growth is and what you want done with the ground. We give you a schedule with the price.
