Crane lifting a rigged trunk section over a house roof
Crane-assisted tree removal

Lift it out. Set it down.

We set a crane in the street or driveway, rig each section of the tree, and lift it over the house so nothing drops on the roof, the yard or the neighbor's fence.

When you need it

When the tree has nowhere to fall.

Tight backyards

Fences, sheds, pools and gardens on every side. No room to drop or lower a section. The crane reaches over the house and lifts each piece out.

Crane lifting a whole tree over a house

Trees over houses

Big trees leaning over the roof, or already on it after a storm. Each section is held by the crane before it is cut, so it cannot fall on the house.

No lawn damage

Sections are set down on the driveway or straight onto the truck. Nothing drops on the lawn, and no machine drives across the yard. [CONFIRM: ground mats under outriggers]

How we do it

Four steps from the street to a clean yard.

  1. [PROJECT PHOTO: crew walking the site and marking the crane spot]
    01

Walk the job and plan the lift

We look at the tree, the house, the lines and the access. We pick where the crane sets up and where each section comes down.

  2. Billow's truck crane set up on the street with outriggers down
    02

    Set the crane

The crane sets up in the street or driveway with outriggers on pads. Cones and traffic control go out if we are on the road.

  3. Rigged trunk section held by the crane line over a roof
    03

    Rig and cut each section

A climber or bucket rigs the section to the crane line, then cuts. The crane holds the weight the whole time.

  4. Chipper and cut logs on a driveway after a removal
    04

Set down, chip and clean up

Sections come down on the driveway or the truck. We chip the brush, haul or stack the wood, and rake out the site.

Does a crane cost more?

The crane adds equipment cost, but on big trees near the house it can mean fewer hours and no damage to repair. We walk the job and give you one written price that includes the crane. [CONFIRM wording]

Will the crane damage my lawn or driveway?

The crane sets up on the street or the driveway, with pads under the outriggers. Sections are set down where we planned, not dropped on the lawn. [CONFIRM: ground mats and driveway protection]

Do we need a permit to set up in the street?

Some townships and boroughs require a permit or notice when a crane sets up on the road. We check with your municipality and set traffic control. [CONFIRM: who pulls the permit]

How long does a crane removal take?

[CONFIRM: typical time for a single large tree.] We give you the plan and the time on the walk-through.

How big is your crane?

[CRANE TONNAGE] tons with [BOOM REACH] ft of reach. If a job needs more, we tell you before we price it. [CONFIRM]
